Our property landscape recently got an update when we had three diseased trees removed.
Why We Removed The Trees
Maintaining a safe, healthy, and welcoming office environment goes beyond what happens inside our building. Our outdoor spaces—especially trees and landscaping—play a vital role in safety, sustainability, and first impressions. Recently, we made the decision to remove several diseased trees from our property. While tree removal is never taken lightly, this action was both necessary and responsible.
The Importance of Tree Health
Trees provide shade, improve air quality, reduce noise, and enhance the overall appearance of our property. However, when a tree becomes diseased, it can quickly shift from being an asset to a liability. Diseased trees may suffer from internal decay, weakened root systems, or pest infestations that compromise their structural integrity.
Why Removal Was the Best Option
Tree removal is always a last resort. When possible, we utilize pruning, treatment, or soil improvement to restore tree health. Unfortunately, the trees in question had reached a point where removal was the safest and most responsible course of action.
Key reasons for removal included:
- Safety concerns: Diseased trees are more likely to drop limbs or fall during storms or high winds.
- Risk to surrounding trees: Certain diseases can spread through root systems or pests, threatening otherwise healthy trees nearby.
- Long-term property protection: Preventing damage to walkways, parking areas, and building structures is essential for operational continuity.
A Professional Approach
We partnered with the local professionals at Joshua Tree Stump Grinding and Tree Removal to complete this project for us. The team ensured that safety barriers were installed, work was scheduled to minimize disruption, and all debris was responsibly removed from our property. Stumps were ground down to prevent regrowth and allow for future landscaping improvements.
Looking Ahead: Replanting and Renewal
Removing diseased trees also creates an opportunity to improve our landscape in the long term. We are currently evaluating options to plant new tree species that are well suited to Nebraska climate and soil conditions.
Replanting will help restore shade, maintain ecological balance, and continue our commitment to a healthy, attractive workplace environment.
